Liverpool have now lost consecutive home league games against Nottingham Forest for the first time since 1963, following this 3-0 defeat. They also failed to score in back-to-back home league meetings with Forest, having previously lost this exact fixture 1-0 last season – the only league game in which they failed to score all campaign.

Liverpool are just the fourth side to start a season as defending champions in the Premier League with 6+ defeats in their first 12 games, after Blackburn Rovers in 1995-96 (6), Chelsea in 2015-16 (7), and Leicester City in 2016-17 (6).
