Liverpool have lost a Premier League game having taken the lead on two separate occasions for the first time since April 2004 vs Arsenal (4-2).

Liverpool are just the third side in Premier League history to score in 100% of their away games in a single season after both Arsenal and Manchester United did so in 2001-02.

In what is his 300th Premier League appearance (Chelsea 13, Liverpool 287), Mohamed Salah is starting a game as captain for the very first time in the competition.

There were 105 touches in the oppositions box in tonight’s game between Brighton (60) and Liverpool (45). Only one Premier League game on record (since 2008-09) has seen more with that being Manchester City (104) v Luton (9) in April 2024 (113).

Having lost four of their first five Premier League home games against Liverpool (D1), Brighton are now unbeaten in their last three against the Reds at the Amex Stadium in the competition.

Brighton lost 2-0 to Manchester United in their final home league game of 2023-24, but haven’t done so in consecutive campaigns since a run of three between 2005-06 and 2007-08.

This was the first time Liverpool have lost a Premier League game in which they had taken the lead on two separate occasions since April 2004 vs Arsenal (4-2).

Brighton have lost just one of their last eight Premier League home games (W4 D2), going down 3-0 against Aston Villa in April.
