Highlights.

MOTM: Erling Haaland.

Erling Haaland has scored 5 goals against Luton Town in the FA Cup. The only other Man City player to score 5+ goals in a single game for the club was Sergio Agüero against Newcastle in 2015.

Luton Town have conceded six goals in an FA Cup tie for the first time since a 6-2 loss to Bolton Wanderers in a third round replay in January 1997. Indeed, it’s the first time they’ve done so at home since losing 6-0 to Derby County in the first leg of the third round in January 1946.

Erling Haaland is the first player to score at least five goals in an FA Cup tie (first round onwards) since Duane Darby for Hull City against Whitby in a first round replay in November 1996 (6 goals).

Erling Haaland has 79 goals in 83 appearances for Manchester City in all competitions since his debut in July 2022, at least 30 more than any other Premier League player during that time (Mohamed Salah next with 49).

Kevin De Bruyne’s three assists for Erling Haaland against Luton in the FA Cup is the first time a Premier League player has provided three assists for one player in any competition since Diogo Jota did so for Mohamed Salah against Rangers in the Champions League in October 2022.
