Ronald Koeman took over the job from Quique Setien after FC Barcelona 8-2 defeat to Bayern Munich In the champions league which might be the club most embarrassing defeat in the season.

We all expected a change but maybe the worst was yet to come(laughs).

He was appointed as a Barcelona Coach on August 19 2020 and sacked October 28 2021.

Here are four reasons we feel Ronald Koeman deserves to be sacked:

Not giving Riqui Puig playing time:

Every Barcelona fan that has seen Riqui Puig play knows he’s one of Barca’s finest midfielders if not currently the best. He’s young and has the ability to retain the ball, he rarely loses the ball.

His passing accuracy and vision is classic enough to get him a starting spot In the team not a regular 5 minutes he gets from Ronald Koeman.

Despite the treatment he gets from Ronald Koeman, he never talks bad about the coach, always maintaining a good attitude and even refused to leave the club despite the challenges.

There was a case where he was seen defending Koeman when he was about to be carded by the referee. Riqui Puig deserves playing time and he’s not getting it from Koeman.

His El Clasico record is nothing good to write home about:

We all know El Clasico is the biggest match in la Liga, and Real Madrid is FC Barcelona’s biggest rivals.

Since Ronald Koeman assumed office, he has played against Real Madrid 3 times in la Liga, losing all the three matches.

First in 24th of October, 2020 where he lost 3-1 with Ansu Fati scoring the only goal, Second was on the 10th of April he lost 2-1 the only goal coming from Mingueza. The third match was 24th of October 2021 where he lost 2-1 with the only goal coming from Aguero.

This is enough to disgrace the club and embarrass the fans, he couldn’t even afford a draw.

His win rate is poor compared to former Barcelona coaches:

Here, we are going to comparing the last three Barcelona coaches because they were all sacked.

Firstly is Enersto Valverde.He managed 145 matches, He won 97 games, 32 draws, 16 loss and 4 trophies

His win rate is 66.89%.

Second is Queque Setien, He managed 25 matches, won 16, 4 draws, 5 loss and 0 trophies.

His win rate is 64%.

And lastly Ronald Koeman. He managed 67 matches, 40 wins, 11 draws, 16 loss and 1 trophy.

His win rate is 59%.

As you can see, he has the lowest win rate as compared to other sacked coaches. This is another reason why he’s not fit to be a Barcelona Coach.

He signed Luuk De Jong:

This is probably FC Barcelona worst signing after Kevin Prince Boateng. The club is going through financial crisis and at a point were desperately in need of a striker.

Ronald Koeman requested for Luuk De Jong who got enough playing time to prove himself but ends up scoring 0 and having 0 goal involvements since his arrival.

Fans are beginning to feel like Koeman bought him because they are fellow countrymen and that is why he’s got so much playing time as compared to Riqui Puig.

• We should take time to appreciate the fact that Ronald Koeman scored the only Barcelona goal in the Champions League Final in 1991.

The news reaching us now claims that the club corner player Xavi is taking the role now that Koeman is sacked.
